Players 6-10

6. Denzel Ward: Fans will go back and forth on whether the Browns made the right decision on Ward, taking him ahead of edge rusher Bradley Chubb in the 2018 NFL Draft. Ward suffered two concussions in his rookie season in what’s become a problem. If he stays on the field, it’s hard to argue with John Dorsey‘s decision to take the Ohio State corner.

7. Joel Bitonio: The Browns’ left guard was the fourth-rated left guard in the league, according to Pro Football focus.

You see that and you wonder about the boondoggle witnessed by us all as the Browns tried to replace Joe Thomas at left tackle. Bitonio was getting reps at left tackle. Face palm. The guy is a Pro Bowler at left guard.

8. Olivier Vernon: Before the Browns made OBJ a part of the package, general manager John Dorsey targeted the Giants’ pass rusher. The original trade to acquire Vernon involved Browns’ right guard Kevin Zeitler. Zeitler will be missed, but Cleveland needed to shore up the edge opposite of Myles Garrett.

Vernon was probably miscast as an outside linebacker in New York, but he’ll move back to playing as a down defensive end in Cleveland. He tallied 7.0 sacks in 11 games during the 2018 season.

9. Jarvis Landry: Jarvis Landry ahs to be the glue that keeps the wide receiving corps together. His influence was welcomed last season, as HBO cameras caught him telling his fellow players that they better play, even if there battling minor injuries. Now he’ll also be tasked with reigning in his former college teammate OBJ.

10. Larry Ogunjobi: Ogunjobi looked to have a nose for getting to the quarterback and considering he did it from the defensive interior, the 305-pounder is worth is his weight in gold. Unfortunately, Ogunjobi suffered a biceps injury that he played through, but it hurt his production. He tallied just 1.5 sacks after the first nine weeks of the season and ended with 5.5 overall.
