Sheldrick Redwine is a rookie playing in his first professional game. Not everything’s going to go according to plan, and it didn’t.

With the Browns looking like they were playing Cover-2, Redwine and fellow rookie Greedy Williams looked pretty bad in allowing the receiver to get behind the defense for a wide open touchdown.

No secret on what happened here. Coverage was blown. Some are blaming Greedy, others are giving Redwine guff. It looked like the Browns were in Cover-2 and Redwine had the receiver passed off to him. He didn’t fall back and Case Keenum capitalized.

Both Williams and Redwine will be taken to school in the film room and this issue will be cleaned up. Hey, it’s better to have it happen when the outcome of the game is meaningless.

With that said, giving up points is giving up points, and this is the NFL. The rookie’s stock is down for now, but here’s hoping it quickly rebounds against the Colts.
