Cleveland Browns: 5 Browns themed fantasy football team names for 2019
4. Greedy is Good
If Wall Street’s Gordon Gekko is your hero, why not combine your passion for corporate takeovers and fantasy football?
Michael Douglass’ Gekko character famously said “Greed is good” in the 1980s classic, and seeing how that decade was the last time the Browns were serious contenders, go ahead and pay homage to the era that birthed the phrase “Dawg Pound.”
Greedy better be good, that is, Greedy Williams better be good, because he’s looked great in in Training Camp and while he contributed to blown coverage that allowed the Redskins to score a touchdown in the preseason opener, he also had an interception in his pro debut.
In preseason Week 1, Williams also showed an ability to tackle, which was a knock on the LSU product coming out of college. So far, coaches are saying they’re satirized with the way Williams is taking on ball carriers.
In 2018, the Browns were second in the NFL with 31 takeaways. There’s no telling how this stat will end up, but after seeing the Browns in the preseason opener, Cleveland sure looks poised to finish in the top five of this category in 2019.
In addition to Williams’ pick, Terrence Mitchell forced a fumble, while Mack Wilson had two interceptions. The Browns just don’t have guys out on the field, they have athletic playmakers.
Turnovers can come on any given down, and that makes the Browns’ defense downright dangerous.
