4. Drew Stanton, QB

How can Drew Stanton‘s stock dip after not even playing? I actually get a little angry, fully aware, we’re talking QB2 here.

The conversation surrounding Garrett Gilbert making the roster confuses me, because the argument should be about whether he’ll be the man who’s one snap away from leading the team.

Gilbert was 13 of 19 for 151 years and two touchdown throws. He ended his day with a 127.3 rating.

Stanton is a 52.4 percent carer passer. His biggest attribute is winning (11-6 as a starter), which is good, because it’s the only thing that matters when your talking sports.

But why he’s just given the No. 2 quarterback spot confuses the part of my brain that’s had to watch the Browns run out 47 quarterbacks or whatever it is since 1999.

Gilbert looks like he could be a quality backup. David Bough is even opening some eyes. Doubtful he even slips through to the practice squad considering how quarterback-starved the league is. It won’t be a surprise at all to see another team snatch him up when another team comes calling.

Stanton has history with quarterbacks coach Ryan Lindley, and that goes along way when your looking for continuity in the offense.
