6. Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi

From sleeping on the street to the 86-yard punt return agains the Redskins, every card carrying member of the Dawg Pound is rooting for Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi.

Unfortunately, Sheehy followed up that electric moment with a poor practice week in Indianapolis that included too many dropped passes. Then, when he got his chance in the game to return punts, he didn’t make anything happen.

As much as it pains me to write it, Sheehy is probably not on this roster right now.

With Hilliard and Johnson trending toward roster spots, the Browns have two players capable of returning punts.

There had been some talk of Sheehy making the roster as a seventh receiver, but I think that’s a long shot now.

With that said, the Browns could easily find a roster spot for him for what he is, a “specialist.”

For those who argue against that, blaming there isn’t a roster spot to spare, let me ask: Who can impact a game more? An electric punt returner or the 11th defensive back on the roster? And yes, it does seem right now that the Browns are going to keep 11 defensive backs.

Prediction: He’s out right now, but what if he makes one more big return? Will it be enough to change minds.
