Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi is banged up (rib), but he’s out there fighting for a job and did something positive in preseason Week 3, returning a punt 18 yards against the Buccaneers.

Coach Freddie Kitchens continues to speak positively about the junior college product, which leaves a glimmer of hope for Sheehy.

He’s still a long shot, mainly because the team never gave him the opportunity to be the first punt renter. He’s always been behind D’Ernest Johnson or Dontrell Hilliard.

Speaking of those two players, they’re fine at returning punts, but both have failed to display the game changing ability Sheehy possesses.

This is why there’s an argument for Sheehy to make this roster. A punt returner can impact a game more than the sixth receiver.

As a pass catcher, Sheehy really had a tough week during the joint practices against the Colts. He’d be a liability on the field if pressed into receiving duty.

If he takes another return to the house, though, how do the Browns not keep on the 53-man roster?
