4. Devaroe Lawrence, DT

Devaroe Lawrence goes on this list for the second straight week. He probably already had a roster spot locked up, but he only secured his hold on a job for 2019 by recording another sack.

Entering the preseason, there were considerable worries among us Browns pundits who worried about the depth of the interior defensive line. It’s for this reason, general manager John Dorsey made a play to sign Gerald McCoy, who was released by the Bucs during the offseason.

McCoy went elsewhere. Amen. The Browns saved a bunch of money they’ll be able to carry over into this offseason.

Meanwhile, they’ve found a player in Lawrence who looks almost as scary as Browns’ starters Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson.

Lawrence now has 4.0 sacks this reason and has done wonders in quieting the talk about the lack of depth at the position.

The defensive line position is one of those spots where you need a lot of bodies because you’ve got to keep guys fresh and their motors high.

With the emergence of Lawrence, the Browns look to be in good shape when the starters need a break.
