5 reasons Cleveland Browns will hand San Francisco 49ers first loss in Week 5
5. Baker getting all involved
Odell Beckham only had two catches for 20 yards on seven targets, but Baker Mayfield excelled in spreading the ball around, completing passes to seven different receivers.
Mayfield looked more confident in his throws, so it’s probably not a coincidence he was the most accurate he’s been in four starts this season.
Jarvis Landry had a career day, catching eight balls for 167 yards. Unfortunately, Juice ended last week’s game in concussion protocol and his status is still unknown.
Mayfield will welcome back Antonio Callaway to the huddle. The second-year player from Florida had been serving a four-game suspension. Callaway hasn’t played since the preseason, so there will be a drop-off.
Rashard Higgins (knee) hasn’t played since the opener and he is health is still in question for Monday night. Higgins had been practicing in a limited capacity until last week, when he didn’t practice at all.
That’s the beauty of Mayfield, though. If given time, he will complete passes and it doesn’t matter who is on the other end.
