The Browns have a big question to ask for the 2020 draft. Do they finally do the smart thing and try to replace Joe Thomas at left tackle, or do they go with a tight end?

Both are huge needs that need addressed during the offseason if this team is going to be seriously taken as a contender.

Greg Robinson just isn’t the answer. The left tackle was abused by Nick Bosa. Even when the Browns tried to chip the Ohio State product with Demetrius Harris, it didn’t matter.

Robinson’s obvious poor game has fans calling for the Browns to investigate a trade for Trent Williams. Williams is holding out, rather than playing for the dysfunctional Redskins.

It the easy thing to do, but I might try and see if anyone else is available, mainly because Williams has an injury history and it’s not entirely clear if he’s fully healthy now. Plus, he’s on the wrong side of 30. You don’t give up two first-round picks for a player at this point of his career.

That said, finding a lineman is easier said than done. There’s a premium being placed on good left tackles, which is why the Dolphis got two first-rounders in their trade with the Texans for Laremy Tunsil.

Robinson was a breath of fresh air when he replaced Desmond Harrison a season ago, but it’s clear he’s not the Browns’ left tackle of the future. There’s no one else that is better than him right now, though, so that’s who the Browns have to role with.
