Cleveland Browns: 5 reasons Browns will trounce Denver Broncos
4. Chubb won’t fumble again
Nick Chubb doesn’t have a history of fumbling, which is why the Browns’ running back should be in store for a huge bounce-back game in the Mile High air.
Chubb didn’t fumble in his final season at Georgia, and then didn’t cough up the ball as a rookie. He didn’t cough up his first fumble until Week 7 at home against the Seahawks.
Until that fateful fourth-quarter play, Chubb had gone an astonishing 320 touches without losing the rock. Now? He’s lost three balls in 14 touches.
If history will teach us anything here, the 2018 second-round pick could go along time without turning the ball over again.
Chubb’s been the most consistent piece of the offense at this point. Really, he’s been the only offense. He’s third in the NFL with 738 yards. His 5.5 yards per attempt ranks No. 1 among backs with at least 100 carries.
5. Catching a break
Not only will the Broncos be without Joe Flacco, but Denver is also without Bradley Chubb, the player the Browns passed on to select Denzel Ward with the fourth pick in the 2018 draft.
Chubb is out for the season with an ACL tear and is being replaced by undrafted free agent Malik Reed.
The Broncos still have Von Miller, but obviously, the defense isn’t as strong as it could be with Chubb watching from the sidelines.
