The Browns takeaway game has suffered ever since the Browns parted ways with Gregg Williams. the defense just doesn’t seem to have the same nose for the ball as they did under the veteran, defensive minded coach.

Sure the Browns have forced some fumbles and tallied up some sacks, but the defense hasn’t made its impact on the scoreboard, until now.

Denzel Ward‘s 61-yard interception of Andy Dalton in the first quarter got the Browns on the scoreboard and that’s important, because the whole stadium had a bad taste in its mouth after the Browns’ opening drive on offense.

Trailing 7-0, Ward got the Browns into the game and booted the dreadful feeling of playing behind back toward the Ohio River.

Truthfully, Ward needed a good game and it was nice to see him deliver. He missed three games earlier this year with hamstring issues. In the following weeks, he’s been beat and flagged for pass interference for not turning around to look at the ball.
