The big name Rockies fans are watching before Spring Training revolve around Nolan Arenado, who may find himself on the move.

Buddy Bell‘s got a better chance of coming back to play third base than that happening, so let’s look at another potential trade target: David Dahl.

Dahl, 25, is coming off his first All-Star appearance and he still has three years of arbitration remaining after the 2020 season ends.

Why would the Rockies do it? Whatever is going on in the Mile High air ain’t working, and it seems like some kind of change is coming after Arenado’s latest comments.

The Indians have a surplus of starting pitching, something always needed in Colorado. Perhaps adding to the staff and subtracting Dahl will be enough to cool Arenado off.

Acquiring Dahl doesn’t come without risk. When he plays, he’s great .297 (.867 OPS), however, injuries have hampered him throughout his career. He was off to what looked like a breakout season last seaosn until he hurt his ankle after the All-Star break.

He ended up clubbing 15 homers in 100 games before his season ended.
