C Austin Reiter (Chiefs)

The talent from Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, FL was recruited by South Florida where he’d go to play center. His play with the squad was good enough to get him drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins. He would end up spending only 4 months under contract with the squad before being waived and added to the practice squad in 2015. Then in 2016, it happened again. He’d be re-added to the practice squad on Sept. 13, 2016. Seven days later, however, Reiter would be gone.

On the 20th of Sept. Reiter agreed to a deal with the Cleveland Browns. The former Chief would make his starting debut on October 2nd and would play well in his first outing with the team. Hopes were high for the young center, but a nasty ACL injury soon after his first pro-start ended his season, and erasing all chances he’d become a starter for the Browns. He would remain on the team’s books until September of 2018, where he was finally waived by the team.

He since landed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, where he signed a two-year deal. He has played well enough to earn a spot in the Chiefs starting lineup, being the center to NFL mega-star, Patrick Mahomes. If not for the stellar blocking of the Chiefs offensive line, Reiter included, who knows if Mahomes would be as effective or if they’d even of been good enough to get to the big game.
