Vipers vs. Wildcats

The Los Angles Wildcats defeated the Tampa Bay Vipers in the game of the week, 41-34. The Vipers have found life again with Taylor Cornelius and while they’re not out of the playoff conversation yet, the 1-4 Vipers are the only team in the East under .500. The Wildcats, however, get a much needed second win on their season, keeping the pace with the Dallas Renegades for the second spot in the West’s playoff chase. Former NFL, AAF and current Wildcats quarterback Josh Johnson is showing everyone why he should be once again considered for the NFL.

Tampa – QB Taylor Cornelius

Taylor Cornelius had 345 combined yards against the Wildcats, 300 yards through the air and 45 yards on the ground, and scored three touchdowns. Two interceptions on the day though harmed the team’s chances of getting their second win the year.

LA – QB Josh Johnson

One blemish is all Josh Johnson had as he propelled the team to an impressive second win, throwing for 288 yards and four touchdowns. Johnson’s performance is propelling a team that was once thought to be dead in the water.

LA – DE Cedric Reed

The Los Angeles Wildcats had a stellar performance from Cedric Reed, who had six total tackles,  two quarterback hits, a sack and a tackle for a loss.

Notes: LA receiver Nelson Spruce sat out a second game due to a knee injury. Tre McBride and Jordan Smallwood have stepped up in his absence.
