The linebacker corps

The math on this one is pretty simple. The Browns lost two starters and replaced them with some rotational depth.

Injuries have fogged up or memories of Christian Kirksey, but he was a starting outside linebacker before he got hurt, not to mention, a team captain.

B.J. Goodson looks like the favorite to replace Joe Schobert, the former Packer played just 25 percent of Green Bay’s snaps a season ago.

The lack of activity in the market indicates how Cleveland’s front office values the linebacker position, in that they don’t, really.

Mack Wilson is a nice player who played promising as fifth-round pick, but his games still comes with holes.

That said, at least Wilson played. Sione Takitaki wasn’t on the field all that much as a linebacker, but now, it looks like new defensive coordinator Joe Woods will have to lean heavily on the BYU product.

The Browns will almost certainly add some depth to the position via the draft, but for the time being, this position group remains of the biggest holes on the roster.
