The Best Player in each Cleveland Browns NFL Draft Class since 1999
By Chad Porto
2011 – TE Jordan Cameron (Round 4: Pick 5, 102nd overall)
When you take Phil Taylor over J.J. Watt, you deserve to be mocked endlessly as a franchise. This one is also a no-brainer like so many before. Taylor never became the defensive tackle the team hoped he’d be, defensive end Jabaal Sheard hung around longer than he should have, wide receiver Greg Little was one of the worst players the Browns ever drafted, Owen Marecic was a fine fullback but was phased out of the offense, cornerback Buster Skrine is still in the NFL but his spotty play with the Browns was unconvincing and lastly Jason Pinkson; who was from Pittsburgh and that should’ve been enough to not draft him.
The star of the class was Jordan Cameron, a tight end from USC. Like Jackson and Ward before him, Cameron was a casualty of the Farmer-era. Though, in hindsight, it was probably a smart move. Despite being ultra-athletic and a playmaking machine, Cameron started suffering concussions in 2014 , and it restricted him in last season in Cleveland. That issue would then follow him to Miami. After failing to catch on in Miami after his first years, he would retire after his second season; citing four concussions during his six years in the NFL.
Farmer doesn’t get credit for that move in hindsight.
Don’t shed a tear for Cameron though, he’s currently dating supermodel Elin Nordegren. The very same woman who knee-capped Tiger Woods’ career for almost a decade. Cameron and Nordegren have a son together, who was born in October of 2019.
All in all, Cameron is living a pretty solid life.
