2020 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns must take one of these five players in 2nd round
4. Jeremy Chinn, S, SIU
Safety, again continues to be a need, which is why if Dugger isn’t a fit, then perhaps the Browns should look at Southern Illinois’ Jeremy Chinn.
At No. 41, the Browns need to consider and weigh need vs. talent available. The perception is that linebacking talent won’t be all that great when the Browns pick at No. 41, so take a safety before all the good ones are gone in the third round.
Chinn is so talented, he’s been called a “Poor Man’s Isaiah Simmons,” meaning he could even line up at linebacker. While that’s fun to ponder, if the Browns take Chinn, they’d better line him up at safety. He’s got great speed and can track anyone down, that said, he did seem to have some trouble with recognizing plays.
This prospect comes with some risk, but he does pan out, he could really be something. Ideally, Chinn is someone who would start the season on the bench, and in theory, he could with the Browns signing veteran Andrew Sendejo.
Chinn’s game needs some polish, but he’d be worth taking at No. 41.
