The last time the Cleveland Browns got new uniforms, fans were underwhelmed, and now it’s safe to say that a change can’t come soon enough.

The Cleveland Browns have had some of the worst uniforms in the history of the NFL in recent years. Whether it’s the cluttered current designs or the awful orange on orange pallet they tried to get going about a decade ago, the Browns are constantly on the underwhelming side of uniform designs. Simply put, the Browns need new uniforms. Some of the best uniforms are the ones that hardly change. We look to those stone-suckers in Pittsburgh for a look. In all those decades of being below-average as a city goes, they’ve practically only have had one look, one style. One simple and iconic design.

The city may need three whole rivers so things can escape it, but at least they got the memo on timeless designs down.

The Browns need to follow suit. Return the jerseys to a simpler design, one that isn’t bound by modern trends or new age-y thinking. That stuff becomes old and dated real fast. The Browns know this, we’ve seen it. They had a spiritual sibling in similar uniform designs over the last five years as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They too had this new age, block pattern design uniform that just looked like trash. They abandoned the iconic red jerseys and brown pants that were draped over the pads of so many legends, for this hacky, lined monstrosity.

It didn’t work, and they’re essentially reverting back to the previous designs but with some minor changes to the helmets and logos.

The Browns need to follow suit and a new video seems to hint at a return to the more iconic days of the ’60s and ’80s. This might be the way to go, seeing as how fans from all generations constantly see those uniforms as the peak in Browns’ performance. That look goes hand in hand with success. So naturally, it’d be a look the Browns would want to revisit.
