AFC East

New England – SAF Kyle Dugger (Lenoir-Rhyne), OLB Josh Uche (Michigan), OLB Anfernee Jennings (Alabama), TE Devin Asiasi (UCLA), TE Dalton Keene (Virginia Tech)

Well, quantity over quality? The New England Patriots drafted two tight ends before in Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski. Now, Hernandez as a person was horrid, yet the Patriots rode both men to success for three years. It looks like Bill Belichick will want to do the same with Dalton Keene and Devin Asiasi, only without the Hernandez-mess of it all. A lot of interesting, very-Patriot like picks.

Grade: B+ (Good talent, but didn’t address the quarterback spot.)

Miami – IL Robert Hunt (Louisiana), DT Raekwon Davis (Alabama), SAF Brandon Jones (Texas)

Three picks on offense and three on defense over their first two days drafting and clearly the Miami Dolphins have a balanced approached to the draft. Which makes sense, as they had more holes than a swiss cheese factory in the Cold War. That’s a thinker, cus a hole could mean an information leak. Anyway, it’s hard to say that any of these picks were bad, yet none of them were splash worthy. Only Robert Hunt, a guard (interior linemen) was taken to help new franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, which will hurt some.

Grade: B+ (This team needs help everywhere, but hopefully not in the front office.)

New York (Jets) – WR Denzel Mims (Baylor), SAF Ashtyn Davis (Cal), DE Jabari Zuniga (Florida)

The Jets didn’t frack it up for once. Go Jets. Denzel Mims has first-round talent, Ashtyn Davis is an ultra-athlete in the secondary and Jabari Zuniga just needs to be a starter to warrant his selection. You really can’t hate the Jets draft so far.

Grade: A- (Zuniga might be the only suspect pick but who knows?)

Buffalo – DE AJ Epenesa (Iowa), RB Zack Moss (Utah)

Buffalo is following the Jets lead and stacking up at an attempt to win the AFC East. Getting Iowa’s bloodhound of a defensive end, and getting a starting-caliber running back is a clear sign they’re moving in the right direction. Epenesa might be the sleeper of the draft. Granted, there are a few guys who stake that claim. Don’t be surprised if Epenesa outperforms many other rookies at his position.

Grade: A- (Moss might not be the guy of the future but only time will tell.)
