The Bad

Jedrick Wills

Jedrick Wills’ play was ghastly in the second half. The Colts finally realized that Wills has awful footwork and just started lining Justin Houston up on his shoulder and dared Wills to try to stop him. Spoiler, he couldn’t. Wills gave up a few hits and a sack or two on Baker Mayfield. One of the hits injured Mayfield and sent him to the hospital post-game. He also was responsible for a hit on Mayfield that caused a turnover in the second half as well.

Stars making big mistakes

Jarvis Landry dropped a few passes, Mayfield threw an interception that had to be to the Colts defense, Kareem Hunt was too slow hitting the gaps up the middle and overall there were just so many big mistakes from big-time players. That’s not going to happen every week, thankfully.

The defense can’t stop the run

The Browns aren’t better against the run than last year, they’re just that much worst against the pass that teams don’t feel the need to run the ball. The Colts running game has been below average all season until they faced the Browns and completely made them look like the 2019 team. No one on the defensive line, besides Garrett, stepped up at all and a specific rookie made as much impact defensively as running back D’Ernest Johnson. Everyone had the same amount of time to prepare for this season. That’s not going to fly as an excuse for much longer. This defense is not good. Don’t kid yourself.
