Browns: 5 players whose stock sank vs Eagles in Week 11
4. Mack Wilson
Another Browns linebacker makes the list and Mack Wilson is no stranger to the stock down list. I noted at least a couple of missed tackles, although I don’t have the data yet. I’ll update as it comes in.
Wilson almost came up with that interception in the end zone, but that was just a chance play that the former fifth-round pick almost capitalized on.
Wison does deserve a tip of the cap for that hit he delivered on Dallas Goedert in the fourth quarter. Goedert took a pass and was then muscling the smaller sized Denzel Ward. Wilson helped his teammate by delivering a lick on Goedert that propelled him out of bounds.
Ultimately Wilson’s graded out at replacement level, in the eyes of Pro Football Focus. Not a good thing when it was being portrayed publicly that the team viewed him as the leader of the linebacking corps.
Wilson suffered a knee injury in camp that at the time, appeared devastating. It wasn’t as bad as it appeared and he was back by Week 3.
He’s only in his second season and does possess elite speed. So, from the optimist’s view, there’s still time for the former fifth-round pick to get on track.
