5 Browns whose stock is down after Jaguars Week 12 win
2. Harrison Bryant
Hold onto the ball young man. Fumble once, OK. Two weeks in a row? It’s becoming a problem.
Bryant fumbled early on in the third quarter as Cleveland was looking to build its lead after the Jaguars ended the first half by missing a field goal.
Mayfield hit Bryant for 12 yards, and then boom–fumblerooski. The Jaguars made the most of the error, cashing in on Mike Glennon to Tyler Eifert touchdown pass. The score gave Jacksonville a 19-17 lead at the time.
There’s a lot to like about Bryant, a fourth-round pick out of Central Florida. He has three touchdowns and 10 of his 16 receptions have gone for first downs. Plus those 16 receptions are off 23 targets. He knows how to get open and chances are, if Mayfield throws him the ball, he’s going to catch it.
That said, you’ve got to protect the ball and the argument could be made that Bryant’s two fumbles over the past two weeks have kept games closer than they maybe should have been.
