If–and it’s a big IF–David Dahl can stay healthy, well, Clevelanders got to see him at All-Star weekend back in 2019.

Dahl earned his invitation to the mid-summer classic after hitting .309 (.881 OPS) with 12 homers in the first half. He played just 20 more games before suffering an ankle injury that shelved him for the rest of the season. He ended 2019 batting .302 (.877 OPS) with 15 homers and 61 RBIs in what was his most productive big-league season.

In 2020, Dahl was limited to 24 games and dealt with shoulder problems. He didn’t even homer. At the end of September, he underwent shoulder surgery in what was described as a “clean-up procedure” on his shoulder (labrum, rotator cuff, bursa sac, and a bone spur).

Dahl is expected to be ready for Spring Training and he’d be a fit for the Tribe, assuming he’s healthy.

He’s still young (26) and he’s obviously talented. The issue has been staying on the field. Dahl is rumored to be receiving a lot of interest…but that just may depend on price.

The A’s, Red Sox and White Sox could also be interested among contending teams, according to ESPN’s David Schoenfield.
