Chase Claypool

We saw what Chase Claypool can do against Robert Jackson, the Browns 34th best cornerback. If Kevin Johnson and/or Denzel Ward isn’t ready for Sunday, then Jackson will remain the key matchup for Claypool. After the Week 17 game against the Steelers and how easily Mason Rudolph and Claypool hooked up, that should worry Browns fans.

Claypool had 101 yards on just five catches, with a touchdown thrown in. The fact that the Browns will have to deal with Claypool again, this time with Ben Roethlisberger throwing him the ball is already bad, but to now have to worry about this matchup with arguably the Browns 6th best cornerback? That’s not a good sign for anyone.

While some will scoff at this, the return of Andrew Sendejo should help some, as he has shown to be a great hustle player who can wrap and tackle with the best of them. This will help some, even if it’s not a huge and dramatic improvement. It’s still better than going in with any more talent down.

That said, the Browns were dealt another blow as Ronnie Harrison tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the game. There is clearly spread within the team, but the NFL will more than likely not postpone the game, as the need to stay on schedule is probably a bigger worry to them than anything.
