Ohio State football: 6 Buckeyes who will be 1st-round NFL draft picks
5. Shaun Wade, CB*
His stock is slipping after being torched by DeVonta Smith in the National Title game, but Shaun Wade should still hear his name called in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Before the title game, ESPN’s Todd McShay had him going 13th the Chargers, as LA will soon need to remedy the problem of their aging corners.
It’s more likely Wade goes toward the bottom of the draft to a team like Buffalo. The Bills could afford to play to Wade’s strengths. They could look at him on the outside and in the nickel and put Wade in the best position to succeed.
Wade had been stellar in the nickel spot for Ohio before moving to the outside this season. That’s not to say he can’t succeed in the position, but he’s going to need some work.
He has all of the tools to do and a team like Buffalo can afford to play to his strengths until they figure out his long term fit.
