Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

This one is all me. I grew up a Penn State fan. I love watching them and frankly, they have had some kick-butt linebackers. Now, everyone is going to go mad in the comments “ThE BrOwNs DoNt VaLuE lIneBaCkErS”. I know, we know. That doesn’t mean that Micah Parsons isn’t legit. Even though linebackers have gone the way of running backs in the modern NFL (mark my words, that’s going to change), a player like Parsons really does make an impact.

He’s a hardnose tackler, who can get depth against bigger offensive linemen, and has great coverage skills. Sure, he’s not a pass rusher that fits in Joe Woods’ casual and calm defense but he can make things happen in other aspects. Parsons is someone who can make an impact in short-yard situations. He’s also athletic enough to make plays against tight ends or slot receivers.

Sure, Parsons has “character issues”, and frankly with the Deshaun Watson controversy, maybe it’s time we stop writing off “character issues” as no big deal. That’s an argument and one that really has merit for both sides of the line.

That said, Parsons is a fantastic prospect and could make a huge impact on the Browns, and unlike Caleb Farley, and Penei Sewell, this pipe-dream actually fits a need with the Browns. That said, the odds he makes it out of the top 10 is not in anyone’s favor. He’ll likely go early, within the first two hours or around then, so it doesn’t make sense to even plan for him to fall to the Browns.

That’s why he’s on the list, because if he does fill a need, and the Browns have no hope of getting him.
