Since Iyer didn’t provide any comments for the rest of the picks, we’re going to stack them up. In the fourth round, the Iyer sees the Browns taking DE Jonathon Cooper and Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz.

For positional fits, they both fill a need, and for Cooper, who plays defensive end, you could argue that taking his position in the fourth round is find, considering the signing of Jadeveon Clowney, or you could argue that the Browns still need more help and the team didn’t address it soon enough. I agree with both ideas. That said, I’ll give both guys that they’re taken where they should be.

Do they fit positionally? Well, Cooper isn’t crazy fast, but he does have a 4.69 40-yard dash, and for an end, this deep in the draft, that’s not bad. The Browns need someone who can contain the edge on passing downs, as well as rush. He had nine sacks in five years at Ohio State, he’s just not that good of a pass rusher. In the end, however, he’s not the most athletic so that’ll hurt him. He also doesn’t have something special about him that makes him pop.

For Schwartz, he’s not only a positional fit, but he’s a scheme need as well. In fact, he may be a steal if he’s still there in the fourth round. He also has the x-factor of being faster than expected, with a blistering 4.25 40-yard dash. The Browns need someone who can stretch the field to give Jarvis Landry and the tight ends room to work, he fits that need.

Cooper’s Grade: C

Schwartz’s Grade: A
