3 biggest names on Cleveland Browns roster bubble pre-training camp
Cleveland Browns OL Chris Hubbard
Initially, I thought Chris Hubbard would be safe, however, ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi believes he’s a roster bubble candidate.
I reason that Hubbard is invaluable as a sixth man, capable of playing guard or tackle in a bind. The Browns already got him to restructure before last season, but now he’s due $3.5 million, according to Sprotrac.
The addition of UC tackle James Hudson signals the Browns long-term plans at backup tackle, and perhaps one day, starting right tackle.
At guard, the Browns have Nick Harris, who also will be the team’s backup center. Additionally, the team would probably like to see more of Michael Dunn and Blake Hance, two players picked off the scrap heap who ended up contributing in Cleveland’s playoff win over the Steelers. They’re still long shots, though.
Grossi noted the ACL injury Hubbard suffered last season as something to watch conquering his roster status.
