4. Cleveland Browns LB Mack Wilson

Mack Wilson isn’t going down without a fight. Picked by many as one who could be cut (I’m guilty of it), the Alabama product is using the 2021 Training Camp to remind us why we all got so excited when then GM made him a fifth-round pick in 2019.

I don’t know if Wilson’s feeling the pressure or not, but he’s practicing with a sense of urgency that’s translating into plays on the field. He picked off a Baker Mayfield pass intended for David Njoku for a touchdown on the first day of padded practice, adding to his list of 2021 Training Camp Highlights.

Much was also made of how Wilson tied himself to the hip of veteran Anthony Walker, in an effort to learn as much as he can. Now, with Walker injured, Wilson is getting even more reps in his place.

Walker’s injury isn’t expected to be serious, though, but even then, Wilson can find a spot on the depth chart. As it was pointed out at the beginning of camp, having Wilson is probably a better option than picking up another team’s cut.
