6 Cleveland Browns whose stock is up after preseason Giants win
4. Cleveland Browns DT Sheldon Day
One of the reasons McDowell remains a long shot to make the final roster is the play of defensive tackle Sheldon Day.
Day put together another good outing, a week after sacking Jaguars quarterback on the first play of the first preseason game.
Day had a memorable play, in which he shot across the gap to tally a tackle for a loss.
The Browns will probably take four defensive tackles–definitely no more than five. One would assume Andrew Billings and Malik Jackson have the top two roster spots, while rookie Tommy Togiai and second-year veteran Joran Elliott’s jobs are secure.
Again, Day might be a player building tape for another team following roster cuts.
