6. Cleveland Browns FB Johnny Stanton
There was some chatter about Andy Janovich’s future with the Browns considering how Kevin Stefanski didn’t make the fullback position as much as a priority as he did when he was in Minnesota.
That said, after watching Andy Janovich on Sunday, you can go ahead and assume his job is safe. As a lead blocker–when you need one–he’s the guy you want out there.
However, there’s a spot for Stanton on the roster as the backup fullback and fourth tight end. The later position opened up following a season ending injury to Stephen Carlson. Stanton had two catches for 33 yards.
His long play went for 19 yards, to the joy of Browns’ fans still in attendance.
Stanton saw action in 2021 when Janovich was on the COVID/Reserve list, but with the TE4 position open, there’s certainly a spot for the fan favorite.
