3 Cleveland Browns whose stock is down in Giants preseason aftermath
1. Cleveland Browns Greedy Williams
It was disappointing to see Greedy Williams leave the contest with a groin injury. Losing a job to injury stinks, but I have no confidence the 2019 second-round pick can make it through an entire game.
He played all of 10 snaps before a groin injury forced him to leave the contest. In that time, he posted a grade of 40.1.
With Greg Newsome playing strong, the rookie from Northwestern has earned the right to start opposite of Denzel Ward when Cleveland kicks off against the Chiefs in Week 1.
Williams missed four games during his rookie season before sitting out the entire 2020 campaign with the bizarre shoulder injury suffered during a tacking drill in training camp.
He was nursing hamstring injuries earlier in camp before leaving with the groin injury.
Perhaps a lesser role will be a way to get Williams contributing. With the NFL being more of a passing league than ever, The Browns are going to need an extra corner to play with Ward, Newsome and Troy Hill.
Hopefully, the limited snaps will him a chance to make plays and contribute.
