2. Cleveland Browns FB/TE Jonny Stanton
The fourth tight end spot really comes down to Johnny Stanton and Jordan Franks.
Stanton, who is quickly becoming a fan favorite, would have to really put up some incredible tape Sunday night to get serious consideration because I think it’s more likely he’s ticketed for the practice squad considering he’s being asked to focus on a new position, in addition to his role as a fullback.
Never say never, though, as an opportunity was opened up after Stephen Carlson and Connor Davis landed on the IR after getting hurt throughout the preseason.
Talking about Stanton making the team is a good problem to have, as the Browns are loaded at tight end with David Njoku looking poised to have a breakout season in 2021, while Harrison Bryant and Austin Hooper possess playmaking ability as well.
If Stanton has anything go for him, it’s his versatility, something all coaches love.
