1. Cleveland Browns: Malik Mcdowell, DT

The stats say McDowell had two tackles and was credited with half a sack.

The former 2017 second-round pick earned some keystrokes from Pro Football Focus following the game for his play. The analytically oriented state gushed over McDowell, noting how he’s consistently beaten blocks through two preseason contests.

They also made a point of noting how McDowell logged two quarterback pressures on a total of nine pass-rushing snaps against Atlanta.

The top contenders for Cleveland’s defensive tackle position are Malik Jackson, Andrew Billings, Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai. McDowell’s certainly made his case to be a fifth option should the Browns go that way, because I can’t see them cutting Togiai. He’s had a good camp and is a third-round pick.
