The Bad

Case Keenum

Turns out you can ask for something more. The Broncos’ offense was garbage but the Browns’ offense wasn’t nearly as explosive without Baker Mayfield. Case Keenum tried to go deep several times during the game but he found no one and nothing when he tried. Keenum also forced the ball on several occasions and at least two of those passes should’ve been interceptions but the Broncos just couldn’t capitalize.

Inconsistent defense

Teddy Bridgewater did a lot of damage considering he was banged up. He threw two touchdowns and one of them should have absolutely been short, but Denzel Ward failed to tackle Melvin Gordon, who was able to eek in cross the goalline. Ward’s PFF score for the year was 66.6 coming into the game and it will likely go down after this week’s encounter with the Broncos.

Injuries

The Browns once again got bit by the injury bug during the game, with Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham both getting hurt during the game. Landry didn’t return but Beckham did. It’s going to be interesting to see if these are lingering issues that take them back out of the lineup. After all, it’s not uncommon for guys to suffer major injuries like Mayfield did last week and come back in. The good news is the Browns have 10 days off to recover.
