5 Cleveland Browns whose stocks are down in haunting Steelers loss
2. Cleveland Browns WR OBJ
Sundays are turning into a sad time for Odell Beckham, as fans of the Cleveland Browns hope to see a glimmer of the player who became a household name for his play with the Giants.
Those days are long in the past now and Beckham becomes more and more irrelevant the more snaps he logs in an orange helmet.
In a must win game, OBJ had one reception for six yards, running 29 routes. He’s being accused of “T-Rexing” a ball that would’ve been a major gain for the Browns.
National pundits are banging the trade drum (the deadline is Nov. 2), but if you were the GM of an NFL team, seriously ask yourself why you would trade for him.
If you’re a lousy team, you’ve got no interest in taking on Beckham’s remaining contract. If you’re a good team, you’ve got to bring into question Beckham’s ability and ask if the juice is worth the squeeze.
If the answer is yet, he could probably be had for a late-round pick. The Browns have to know he won’t command anything of real value. Heck, considering how valuable draft picks are, I”m not even sure a team would want to give up a seventh rounder for him!
