6 Cleveland Browns whose stock is booming after Bengals beatdown
4. Cleveland Browns CB Troy Hill
Cut by the Bengals as a rookie, corner Troy Hill got big-time revenge on Cincinnati, notching two sacks of Joe Burrow. He had three quarterback hits.
The two sacks come from NFL.com. Some have said he had three takedowns. Hill, himself, said that he only had two and that Anthony Walker should be credited with the other in the postgame presser.
Either way, it was a banner day for the Youngstown native and free agent who signed a three-year, $24 million contract last winter.
Hill’s performance, like Ward’s, speaks to the job well done from the secondary, a group that had taken a beating for its misgivings earlier in the season.
Credit to Joe Woods for what seemed to be a change in that he had his defensive backs play more aggressively. With that said, the Browns got Burrow to throw two picks. Heaven sent, considering the Browns had two interceptions all season entering the contest.
Hill had just one sack in his career entering the contest. He had seven total tackles.
