3. Cleveland Browns DT Andrew Billings

The former Bengal didn’t have the chance to exact any revenge on his former team, because he was inactive against Cincinnati.

Billings’ name was often thrown around when writers were looking for trade candidates, but it never made much sense to me.

He was signed by Andrew Berry’s front office before the 2020 season. He sat out due to COVID. He came back this year, but we’ve barely heard his name after Malik McDowell won the starting defensive tackle spot opposite Malik Jackson.

Jordan Elliott ended up playing 51 percent of the defensive snaps, while it was Sheldon Day who saw a big chunk of playing time, playing 36 snaps (48 percent).

Why hasn’t it worked out here? I’m not really sure, other to say that he’s been left behind on the depth chart by more talented players.

It’s a good bet Billings won’t be back in 2022. He can be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
