3. This is why Cleveland Browns drafted JOK

The rookie campaign of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is off to an uneven start. The linebacker has shown promise, but the moments are few and far between. A high-ankle sprain sent him to the IR for three weeks.

He returned last week and didn’t really make a noticeable difference. He aggravated the injury  during the contest, but Kevin Stefanski said the Notre Dame product will be ready to play on Sunday.

Good, because this is why the Browns celebrated after landing him in the second round of last spring’s draft. JOK is supposed to bring speed to the field, meaning he can keep a mobile quarterback like Lamar Jackson in check. Additionally, he’s supposed to fly around in coverage.

This isn’t a final verdict on JOK, but when he is in there, there are times you don’t hear his name. You start to wonder if the issues requiring his lack of size of the reason he’s not able to make an impact.

Injuries at the running back have the Ravens leaning on Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray. Neither of these players bring the explosiveness of injured starter J.K, Dobbins, so Baltimore is asking Jackson to do even more in the rushing attack.

Slow him down, and you’ve got a chance. Of course, it’s easier saiid than done. Jackson is 36-10 as a starter in the regular season since taking over the job in Week 11 of the 2018 season.
