Potential Cleveland Browns QB: Mitch Trubisky?

You can’t discount Mitchell Trubisky potentially joining the Cleveland Browns. Not because of his ties the city, but rather, the interest Paul DePodesta and the analytics department showed in the quarterback when he was coming out of North Carolina in 2017.

Leading up to that draft, it was reported the analytics department favored Trubisky, while the football minds, led by Hue Jackson, favored Myles Garrett.

The draft obviously worked out for the Browns, but Trubisky’s career stalled in Chicago. He looked promising in year two, during Matt Nagy’s first year, going 11-3 as a starter, but it was downhill after that.

Could Trubisky revive his career in Kevin Stefanski’s system? It’s certainly an intriguing scenario to think about.

I wonder if Trubisky could be a backup option in 2022. The coaching staff obviously has no faith in Case Keenum and I suspect the Browns will be looking for someone new to save some money. Trubisky’s making $2.5 million backing up Allen, while Keenum carries a $6 million price tag.
