One Ex-Browns player is ready to save the season.

The Browns are down to their third-string quarterback, Nick Mullens, and their practice squad quarterback Kyle Lauletta. They’re among the whopping 16 potential new starters for the Browns come Sunday, many of whom will be making their first start of their career. This has of course got many fans demanding the NFL postpone the game.

While the obvious call is to Roger Goddell to get him to postpone the game and protect the competitive integrity of the league, some fans have taken a different approach. Many fans are asking if certain-ex players can in fact step up and help out the Browns in their hour of need.

One player is ready, willing, and potentially capable of helping out if he gets the call. The savior of the 2021 season could in fact be none other than Timothy Scott Couch.

If the NFL isn’t taking this seriously, why should we?

The NFL, like all professional sports, is just a form of entertainment, and Goddell and the NFL want you to know that. Your fandom doesn’t matter, just money does. So while we would usually come on here, offer insight, wisdom, and intelligent conversation, we’re doubling down on the stupid today.

Obviously, Couch can’t help his team win. He hasn’t practiced in nearly 20 years, and his shoulder is torched due to years of the Browns not protecting him. Yet when our mentions on Twitter and Facebook are filled with names like Shane Falco, Matt Saracen, and Paul Blake, why not Couch?

As one fan on Twitter said, this could be Couch’s redemption tour. Let’s be honest, even if Couch’s shoulder is torched, it’s not hard to throw screen routes or hand off the ball 40 times a game.

So make this game a formal protest, sit all of your active starters, and go get a collection of Ex-Browns players to show up.

It can’t go any worse than it’s going to be at this rate.
