The Pass Catchers

Out: Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper,

In: Stephen Carlson, David Njoku, Harrison Bryant, Lawrence Cager, Rashard Higgins,

Right now this is might be the least affected group on the offense; which is like being the most honest man in a lair’s convention. The unit, when healthy, is bad. Now you lose two of your three (or four) best receivers? Yikes.

The Browns are getting back David Njoku, Stephen Carlson, and Harrison Bryant, so that’s a good thing. Donovan Peoples-Jones is still set to start as of press time and Rashard Higgins will likely get some more snaps as well.

All that said, this is not a unit to lean on come Sunday. I wrote before that due to the limitations this offensive line will have, getting back their best non-linemen blocker, Carlson,  is a better addition to the team than any of the better receivers. The Browns will probably look to run more on Sunday than at any other point in franchise history, and a guy like Carlson will be far more valuable in that situation than a Njoku-type player.
