5 Cleveland Browns whose stock is down after Raiders heartbreaker
3. Like we thought, Cleveland Browns line was a problem
It’s really, really hard for me to single out Michael Dunn and Blake Hance. They’re the eighth and nine linemen on the team. They’re not supposed to be starting, let alone starting together, late in December, with the playoffs on the line.
Fully aware I didn’t want to single them out, then just did, I’ll cite PFF, which noted the duo really struggled in the run game.
The ability to rush the ball in the first half really crushed the Browns.
We all wondered what was going on with Chubb–or the lack there of of a rushing threat in those first two quarters–and obviously, the patchwork line was to blame.
For what it’s worth, Nick Mullens didn’t take a sack. Give credit to the line, but credit to Mullens for sticking to the script, and getting rid of the ball as quickly as possible.
Don’t like to do it, but their stock is down . Valiant effort, though,, gentlemen.
