5 potential future landing spots for Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield
5. Cleveland Browns Baker Mayfield trade partner? Washington
If you’re looking at Mayfield trade landing spots, Washington isn’t even on the radar, but perhaps they should be.
Taylor Heinicke had to step up after Ryan Fitzpatrick got hurt, and he’s playing as well as you’d expect him to be. He’s fine, but he’s not taking the WFT anywhere.
With no immediate answers available in the draft, Mayfield might be of interest.
Naturally, WFT fans will notice Heinicke has 19 touchdowns compared to Mayfield’s 13, but Cleveland’s quarterback has missed two games (injury, COVID) and he has been hurt with the labrum injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
Coaching wise, perhaps the WFT could be in store for a change. There’s have been rumblings of Ron Rivera’s seat getting hot. Perhaps the front office doesn’t agree, as the veteran coach doesn’t have the alpha talent it takes to compete.
Coaching change or not, Washington will be looking for a quarterback range.
Heinicke may be outplaying Mayfield this season, but Baker has can claim a playoff win as a reason he’d be an upgrade.
