1 reason to be excited about every team on the Browns 2022 schedule

Chargers (H) – Redemption
Losing to the Chargers in 2021 was a joke. The Browns gave up 26 points to the Chargers’ offense in the fourth quarter alone. The defense for 2022, hopefully, won’t have the same issues it did that game. Baker Mayfield was really dealing that game too, with a quarterback rating higher than Justin Herbert, but a QBR loser. Still, he had over 300 yards, multiple touchdowns, and over 70% completion on his passes. Had the defense done really anything in the fourth quarter to get more than one punt, the Browns take the win.
Having a second go at it in 2022 is going to be very interesting.
Texans (A) – An easy win
The Texans are not exactly a healthy franchise at the moment. They unceremoniously fired their head coach, David Culley, who played the Browns real tough in 2021 with a pretty depleted team. They don’t have any real playmakers on their own, and their quarterback situation is an out-and-out mess. Sure, they have Deshaun Watson, who has a lot of talent, he’s also a giant sex-pest; having admitted to doing some repugnant things with women he had just met. Now, whether or not that ends up being a crime is up to the courts; but I wouldn’t want a quarterback who thinks it’s ok to do that kind of stuff and Houston apparently agrees. The Texans are going to be a mess next year and the Browns should take full advantage.
Washington (A) – A chance for the defense to shine
The Washington Football Team isn’t going to be that much improved in 2022 offensively. Why? History is the real answer to that. Dating back to 1999, the Washington Football Team has only had two seasons where their offense was Top 10 in points and only six where they were in the Top 20. Shockingly, their best seasons were in 2012 and 2016, when Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins were their quarterbacks. Neither man is there anymore and the team doesn’t have an elite quarterback. Their current quarterback, Taylor Heinicke wasn’t supposed to start this year, with Ryan Fitzpatrick the original starter who got hurt. Heinicke didn’t play well enough to make people think he’s the obvious player but didn’t play poorly enough to just give up on him. The Browns defense will have a chance to roll an offense that isn’t expected to be much improved.
