The Cleveland Browns need a kicker. Again. Since 2012, the team has not had a kicker last two full seasons with the team, with the exception of Billy Cundiff. The team has had names like Cody Parkey, Austin Seibert, Zane Gonzales, Greg Joseph, Travis Coons, and Chase McLaughlin all try to replace Phil Dawson. That’s nine years, and altogether the team has trotted out 11 kickers, which you can see below.

  1. Billy Cundiff 2013-2014
  2. Garrett Hartley 2014
  3. Travis Coons 2015
  4. Cody Parkey 2016
  5. Patrick Murray 2016
  6. Zane Gonzales 2017-2018
  7. Greg Joseph 2018
  8. Austin Seibert 2019-2020
  9. Cody Parkey 2020
  10. Chase McLaughlin 2021
  11. Chase Naggar 2021

The Browns’ special teams are anything but and after we saw the Packers lose because of how bad their special teams are, Cleveland can’t afford to let that happen to them. Securing a kicker is a priority for the offseason (so is bringing in a punter).

While Randy Bullock may not be the best kicker available, he’s the only one from the Titans, so he makes the list. He was successful kicking field goals about 84% of the time and hit 93% of his extra points. McLaughlin hit only 71% but was perfect from 50 yards or more.

The Browns need a long-term solution to the kicking woes, as the stadium in Cleveland is hard to get a handle on, especially since players only get a few weeks to get used to the winds during the winter. Dawson kicked there for 13 seasons, he knew how the winds worked. You can’t expect a kicker to get used to that type of setup after only a handful of bad-weather games.
