LB De’Vondre Campbell – 2021 PFF 85.0

Don’t let his incredible PFF score of 85.0 convince you otherwise, De’Vondre Campbell is at best, an average player. This is the only year of his career where he’s scored a PFF grade higher than a 68.3. He’s far more likely to come down to Earth in 2022, and have a more Anthony Walker, Joe Schobert-like season than the one he had in Green Bay.

He’ll be 29-years-old for the season, and that’s usually the age where a majority of linebackers begin to fall off. Still, he may be an upgrade over Walker, even if he does take a step or two back from his 2021 campaign. The first-time Pro Bowler hasn’t been known for his coverage skills, despite being a tackling machine. This was evident in Arizona and Atlanta, two places where good weather and domes protect the offenses from the elements. Sure, he didn’t do well when the offenses were flying down the field but in bad weather?

Apparently, that’s the magic ticket. As Cleveland is known for its horrible weather (have you looked outside today?), it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Campbell could do well in Cleveland. He’s an every-down linebacker, playing 100% of snaps in 13 games. That’s exactly what you want from a modern-day linebacker, a guy who can cover, tackle, and can keep pace with most guys around him.
