8. Cleveland Browns must find new Chris Hubbard

The Cleveland Browns went into the season with the offensive line being a strength. By the time the smoke cleared, injuries had turned the spot into a muscle being held together with an icy pack and tape.

Second-year vet Jed Wills had a rough season at left tackle, but he suffered an ankle injury early in the season. He missed a little time with it, but came back and roughed it out.

Losing Jack Conklin at right tackle was also a big blow to the unit. He tore his patellar tendon it’s likely he will a good chunk of the regular season, if he returns at all in time for 2022.

Additionally, the loss Chris Hubbard early on was a disaster the Browns couldn’t cover up. We all love some Blake Hance and Michael Dunn, but they’re seventh and eighth linemen for a reason.

This team needs a swing tackle capable of coming in and playing for stretches without the line folding like a deck of cards.

Morgan Moses, a free agent from the Jets, has been a name thrown around by fans. He’s set to hit free agent entering his age 31 season and while he’d be more expensive than Hubbard, he’d be stepping into a starting role with Conklin out.

Perhaps James Hudson will be an answer, as the UC rookie certainly endured some growing pains. That said, he’ll be a year in and will be well-versed in the Bill Callahan school of offensive line by the time 2022 rolls around.

If they deem Hudson’s ready, great. But if not, Berry needs to find someone else because injuries are a guarantee in the National Football League.
