Cleveland Browns must have: WRs

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers, Grade B: I threw out Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s name a couple days ago when looking for a Jarvis Landry replacement.

He’s a deep threat, although he’s far from being a polished every down receiver. That said, DPJ will be entering year three, while Anthony Schwartz is still a work in progress with a year of time under his helmet.

Could the three of them squeeze out enough production assuming Cleveland drafts a receiver with the 13th pick.

Christian Kirk, Cardinals, Grade: A: Grossi compares the stats of Kirk and Jarvis Landry over the past four seasons to show “Moneyball” at work. He points out that Kirk has more touchdowns than Landry (17 to 15), more receptions (288 to 236) and more yards (3,560 to 2,902). Landry was paid $60 million, while Kirk made $5 million.

He’s a solid No. 2 and signing him would look even better if the Browns nabbed a receiver in the first round.

Russell Gage, Falcons, Grade C: Would be a consolation prize who would slot in as a profession wideout. Averaged 69 catches, 778 yards and four touchdowns as a reserve the past two years.

Cedrick Wilson, Cobowys, Grade A: Considering Dallas’ recent history of cranking out wideouts, Wilson, 6-2, 200, looks like he could be the next one to pop. It’d be great to see it happen in a Browns uniform. Had 602 yards and six touchdowns on 45 receptions last season.
