The Cleveland Guardians won on Thursday, just not on the field.

The Cleveland Guardians Twitter account is known for its ability to generate a chuckle out of people. It’s one of their best traits. It’s something they may need after games like on Thursday, where the Guards lost 3-1 against the Kansas City Royals.

It was a rough game, made worse by the fact the predictable issue, Amed Rosario flubbing a play in the outfield, ended up happening. It’s almost like his poor play in the outfield last season wasn’t enough to convince Guards coaches and staff members to not let it happen again.

Granted, the team is still down Josh Naylor and just traded Bradley Zimmer, so they aren’t exactly loaded with options in the outfield.

So it was a bit of a rough game to watch, all things being even. Thankfully, the Guardians Twitter was there to make us laugh. Just before the game, The Guards hilariously predicted a 162-0 record for the season. Considering a “good” season sees anywhere from 60-72 losses on the year, the idea of not losing a single game is just not possible.

Or more precisely, improbable.

The Cleveland Guardians Twitter, hopefully, like the team, rebounded

The Guardians lost and it wasn’t very fun to see it happen, as the team pooched away a few opportunities. It happens with a young team, though, so it’s fine. Like with the team, hopefully rebounding on Saturday, the Guardians Twitter account was more than capable of bouncing back after the loss, by acting as if their prior Tweet never happened.

You gotta give it to the people(person?) who run the Guardians Twitter page, as they’ve really found a nice balance of being brutal and hilarious. It’s key for a team to have a good social media team, as that’s the key to growing the brand in a modern-day age. The Guards have one of the better ones going, and even if we lose, at least we know the Guards’ social media will be on par with any blowout win.
